A display assembly is a combination of a digitizer LCD and in the case with this part the LCD frame as well.  There has been a software update that changes the way the backlight is controlled in this model, therefore as long as the unit has been updated the 2 LCD types should both work in all units, please check the technical tab for the legacy information regarding the differences between these models.
